We’re always looking for an excuse to add something gold to our jewelry box. This custom setting is hot off the press: a toi et moi to celebrate the birth of lifestyle influencer Helen Owen’s first baby.
We connected with Helen near the end of her third trimester. Nesting underway, she wanted a ring to represent the upcoming occasion. And what better than a toi et moi—one stone for her, and one for her baby?

The Design Process
Helen loved the idea of a toi et moi ring. French for “you and me”, this classic style symbolizes the joining of two souls. We started with a marquise white diamond (for Helen), and considered a green gemstone for her baby. After reviewing several options—emerald, tourmaline, green diamond—she fell in love with the pear green diamond.
Next, we fulfilled Helen’s request for “movement” with a contour band. We sent her a few 3D prints to get a feel for different band widths and carat sizes on her hand. Her feedback led to the final iteration, featuring two separate contour bands designed to stack together. The bands can fit flush, or reversed for an open contour look.
Into Production
Helen reviewed the final version with June’s 3D rendering software. After her approval, the ring entered the production stage. Our goldsmiths were hard at work crafting an exact replica of the digital renderings with her chosen premium materials: a .90 carat marquise white diamond, a 1.12 carat pear fancy vivid green diamond, and 14K yellow gold.
