Kelsey entered the Studio with dreams of a moval engagement ring. A “moval” is a hybrid of two classic shapes—marquise and oval—and exactly what she needed to get that elongated look.

The Design Process
We started Kelsey’s design with her most important request: a moval diamond. After browsing different stone colors, she was immediately captivated by the color of a champagne diamond—specifically a Portuguese cut, which is known for its sparkle and brilliance. We created an initial mockup of this stone with a hidden pavé halo detail.
Kelsey loved the look, but wanted to up the glam even more. Her design consultant suggested white diamond accents to contrast the color of her diamond. We added white pavé stones to her hidden halo and continued them halfway down the band. It was an instant wow-factor—and it made her center stone really pop. Voilà!
Into Production
Kelsey reviewed the final design with June’s 3D rendering software. After her approval, her ring entered the production stage. Our goldsmiths were hard at work crafting an exact replica of the digital renderings with their chosen premium materials: a 3.64 carat Portuguese cut oval champagne diamond, 40 white diamond accent stones, and 14K yellow gold.
