Nothing says “surprise” like a diamond ring—in this case, an anniversary gift. This custom setting was a unique project: a wedding ring upgrade from wife to husband to celebrate his birthday and 10 years together.
This customer approached June with dreams of upgrading her husband’s wedding ring. She wanted to create something meaningful that he could wear comfortably, everyday. A gift he would never see coming.

The Design Process
From the start, this customer knew she wanted a signet style ring. Her personal design consultant created a digital rendering of a signet setting. Unsure of diamond shape, we experimented with emerald and elongated cushion cut diamonds. She loved the cushion because she felt like it complimented the signet’s soft edges.
Next step, personalized details. Her design consultant suggested birthstone accents to make the ring even more meaningful. Together they selected three gemstones to adorn the side of the ring: Aquamarine (March), Ruby (July), and Sapphire (September). One stone to represent each of their three children in addition to the wife’s birthstone—a diamond.
Additionally, the customer wanted to add a small engraving of her handwriting to the inside of the ring. We added this special detail and finished the design with a gorgeous matte gold finish.
Into Production
The customer reviewed the final version with June’s 3D rendering software. After her approval, the ring entered the production stage. Our goldsmiths were hard at work crafting an exact replica of the digital renderings with her chosen premium materials: a 2.08 carat elongated cushion cut brilliant diamond and 14K yellow gold.
