Maddie entered the June Studio with an idea inspired by our One of a Kind Elongated Pear Solitaire: a special rose cut diamond set in 18K matte yellow gold. Here’s a behind the scenes look at her June Studio process:

The Design Process
After noting Maddie’s interest in antique styles, we started her design process with a video call to explore diamond cuts. After seeing a variety of stones on hand, Maddie expressed interest in classic shapes with vintage cutting styles. Her personal design consultant used this feedback to create an initial design: a rose cut oval diamond with a low bezel setting.
Maddie loved the look, but she worried about two things: her wedding band stacking, and the stone’s sparkle. We proposed another iteration with a higher setting (so her band could fit flush) and opened up the bezel to allow more light to reflect off the stone.
With a goal to up the sparkle, her personal design consultant discovered the perfect stone for Maddie’s needs: a special antique cut diamond with chunky facets. This rare find was the right carat size and everything Maddie was looking for.

Into Production
After Maddie’s approval, her custom oval solitaire entered the production stage. June’s goldsmith’s were hard at work crafting an exact replica of her digital renderings with her chosen premium materials: 14K yellow gold and a 3.03 carat antique cut oval diamond.
